Horizontal banners

Designing your banner for the best visibility.

Most uses for banners require visibility from a fairly large distance. This is ok and can easily be accomplished if you follow a couple of rules.

  1. Keep it simple. You want to express your message with as few words as possible. If you attempt to turn your banner into a book you will probably succeed in making it impossible to read from a distance.
  2. Keep your colors correct. Choose the right colors. Make sure your banner stands out and that your text jumps off your banner. A good example as a good color contrast is Green text on a Yellow banner. This will cause your words to literally jump off your banner!

It is that simple-fewer words mean larger words. Larger words mean you can see them from farther away. You do not want to choose charcoal letters on a gray background this will not be very easy to read.

Another reason to follow these rules is so your banner can be read by people passing by. If traffic is moving, it is important that they can receive your message loud and clear and in a short amount of time!
